The Outdoor Recreation section of the Services Squadron will issue
Picnic Kits at no cost to official squadrons or units supported by Scott
AFB. The unit Commander must provide the Outdoor Recreation Equipment
Loan section with a letter (click here for request form

confirming that the event is a morale type event for the unit members.
These kits are issued free to organizations in support of esprit de
corps functions. The following items are included in a picnic kit:
Gas or charcoal grill (propane $10 fee)
Picnic Coolers/Water Jugs (5 per unit)
Folding tables (5 per unit)
Folding chairs (30 per unit)
Softball kit 4 bats, 10 softballs, 9 right and 1 left handed gloves, 1
set of bases, catchers mask and chest protector
Badminton (1 set)
Croquet (1set)
Horseshoes (1set)
Volleyball (poles, ball, net and court boundary rope)
Bag of Balls (1 ea Volleyball, 1 ea basketball, 2 ea soccer balls, and 2
ea footballs)
Tug of War Rope (1 ea)
Canopy 10’x10’ (when APF purchased canopies are available) 1 ea
* all items are available first come-first serve only.
Other or additional items are available for checkout, but require a fee
to be paid. Previously policy did not define the items available for
free issue or at no cost. IAW AFI 34-110 the Community Support Flight
Chief has defined the items that can issued at no cost. These items
above are items that are acquired with appropriated funds.
These kits are available for ‘official organizational’ use only. Booster
clubs, private organizations (official or unofficial) cannot receive
logistical support from the USAF (34-223 Chapter 11). Under no
circumstances can any official or private organization use free issue
Picnic Kits in fund raising ventures or opportunities. Organizations
conducting approved fund raisers may rent (for a fee) available
resources from the Outdoor Recreation Equipment Loan or Equipment Rental
sections.
