NAF employees are eligible for health
insurance, life insurance, NAF Retirement, 401K, and accrual of sick and
annual leave. These benefits apply to regular category positions only. |
|
|
Health Insurance:
We offer our
employees and their dependents a comprehensive health insurance package, which
also includes a dental plan (optional), discounted prescription drugs, natural
alternative discounts and a National Medical Excellence program. Employees can
also enroll in the Flexible Benefits Plan, which allows you to pay your health
insurance with pre-tax earnings. Regular employees are eligible to enroll in
health insurance on the date they are appointed to a regular position.
|
Life Insurance:
Employees are
eligible to enroll in the Group Life, Accidental Death and Dismemberment
Insurance for coverage for themselves and their dependents. The amount of
coverage is based on salary. Regular employees are eligible for life insurance
coverage 31 days after being appointed to a regular position.
|
NAF Retirement Plan:
NAF has several
retirement options that an employee may be eligible to elect if they choose to
retire, including normal retirement, voluntary early retirement, optional early
retirement and delayed retirement. Employees pay 1% of their bi-weekly salary
into the plan. Regular employees are eligible for the retirement program
after one year.
|
401(k) Plan:
This plan allows
employees to contribute 1-15% of their salaries to the plan. Employers also
contribute matching funds, up to 3%. Employee and employer contributions, plus
earnings from those contributions, are not subject to federal income taxes until
money is withdrawn from the plan. Regular employees are eligible for the 401(k)
program after 30 days.

|
Annual Leave:
Annual leave is
paid time off from work. The amount of annual leave earned depends on the
employee's total length of creditable service and hours worked in a pay status
(ranges from 5-10%). Annual leave begins to accrue immediately after appointment
to regular status.
|
|
Sick Leave:
Sick leave is for
absences due to illness, injury, or illness of a family member. Sick leave is
earned at a rate of 5 percent times the hours in a pay status, excluding
overtime. Sick leave begins to accrue immediately after appointment to regular
status. |
