This web site contains information concerning the operation of a Private Organization or Unofficial Activity.  In order to do fund raising on Scott AFB, the organization wanting to do the fund raising must be approved to operate on Scott.  The Mission Support Group Commander for the base has been delegated authority to approve these operations.  The Private Organizations Handbook provides operating guidance and sample forms which are to be used if you wish to establish a Private Organization or Unofficial Activity.  If an organization expects to maintain over $1000 in their account, they must be established as a Private Organization.  Those with less than $1000 can be established as Unofficial Activities.  The primary difference in establishing an Unofficial Activity vice a Private Organization is that a Private Organization must have a constitution and has more stringent reporting requirements.     

     To establish a Private Organization or Unofficial Activity, AF Form 1768, Staff Summary Sheet (SSS) must be submitted with supporting documents.  Chapter 3 of the Private Organizations Handbook provides detailed instructions on establishing your Private Organization.  In addition, sample Staff Summary Sheets have been made available via this web site. *PLEASE NOTE:  According to AFI 34-223, para 10.1.1.
