Ladies Only Caving/Spelunking
Exploration
Join Outdoor
Recreation as we team up with certified caving instructors on a
caving/spelunking exploration on Saturday, Sept. 13. This is not a tour,
but actual hands on spelunking. Buses will depart at 8 a.m., returning
around 4 p.m. that same day. Explore the second largest cave in
Illinois, wild Mammoth Cave, located just south of Waterloo. Explorers
will get wet and dirty while experiencing the natural beauty of this
cavern. This natural cave features formations like stalactites,
stalagmites, an underground stream and more. Cost for this exploration
is $36/person, which includes a certified guide, transportation,
necessary equipment except batteries (bring 2 AA batteries) and any
fees. For the more adventurous types, if you have 8 – 10 people who
would like to be more rugged than the basic program, let us know in
advance, the guides will gladly accommodate. Participants must be at
least 10 yrs. old and children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Come camp-out

Family/Teen Talent Show Coming Soon
Showcase your
talent in the upcoming 2008 Family/Teen Talent Contest on Saturday,
November 8 at the Base Theater beginning at 4 p.m. We invite moms, dads,
brothers, sisters and friends to sing, dance and perform together live
on stage.
Contestants can enter into various categories such as: parent & child,
husband & wife; children (ages 3 to 5); children (ages 6 to 8); pre-teen
solo (ages 9 to 12); pre-teen group (ages 9 to 12); teen solo (ages 13
to 15); teen group (ages 13 to 15); teen solo (ages 16 to 18); teen
group (ages 16 to 18) and family. Each act will be videotaped. Winners
from each category will be sent to compete in the Air Force level
